A “Joint” Birthday Party at Manila Polo Club’s Last Chukker

I don’t know how to call a twin’s birthday party. Is it a “twin” party or a “joint” party?

In any case, last Friday, a holiday in the Philippines, close friends of the two lovable Tantoco twins gathered at the Manila Polo Club for Nicole and Camille’s 21st birthdays. Several former classmates and barkadas from their high school, Assumption San Lorenzo, new friends in their respective colleges and other intimate, and long-time friends enjoyed the dinner party at Polo Club’s The Last Chukker.

Served for the guests were different kinds of freshly-baked, thin crust pizza, insalata caprese, roasted chicken in different herbs, cheesy penne al ragu as well as different confections for desserts. The night became much more exciting when the music started playing and the alcohol began to flow generously. The Last Chukker was filled with laughter, smiles and shared stories from young men and women, majority of which were in the middle of college senior year and swamped with academic requirements.

Indeed, like in all of their parties, Camille and Nicole’s latest offering was a wholesome, classy and “muy nice” gathering of good-natured young people, basking in memories of high school and waiting anxiously/eagerly to graduate from college studies. It was a time to celebrate, remember and enjoy, and what makes it more meaningful is it’s the birthday of one of the most beloved twins of Metro Manila.

About hechoayer

Things made yesterday still influence us until today. Things made today will influence us tomorrow. Things of the essence such as faith, culture, food, music and values should never disappear nor eroded by the times. Instead, these must be recorded, lived and shared. Something made yesterday - hecho ayer - can be tomorrow's saving grace. Never ignore the past.
